    This is a great idea. I do have one question. Did you have the clock excavator custom made, or were you able to find it just by googling? I have a few ideas of what I want to send, but I haven’t been able to find what I am looking for online.

    I was thinking exactly the same thing Joe. I’d really like to know where the idea came from for the clock and if it was custom made, and if so, who by. We’re currently trying to think of a good mail-shot item for our insurance software business and I’d be really interested if you have any ideas for this Brett.

    I was also wondering, have you applied these same principles to e-mail marketing, and if so, what sort of free items have you sent? Obviously, reproducing this technique successfully via e-mail could reduce the costs further still, with the obvious caveat that it’s damned hard to attach a gold desk clock to an e-mail :)
