I appreciate what you had to say in your latest video “Marketing to Business Owners” about doing niche market research using a “hands on” approach. You made a great point: that it’s fairly easy to craft an effective marketing message to a business owner (or anyone else) when you really understand their pains and fears…and what better way to understand someone than to walk in their shoes a little.
I am always targeting Business Owners (less than 20 employees, but I am not a p/c agent, but focus on specific life insurance products. I really like the toy sent to Excavators, but being in the life business I need that special marketing piece or strategy to get the Business Owner’s attention.
Suggestions, ideas, ?????

1. The “Blast Past The Gate Keeper Video” was not ready yet. It is now up.
2. The point is NOT who’s economy it is: Bush - Obama…I don’t really care. What’s important is that Business Owners, now more than ever, need our help.
Not only that…but they are now more open to new ideas and products you present to them than ever before.
Turbulence always does this. It makes people question the status-quo, creating opportunities for you to say “I can help you…here’s how.”
Where 3 or 4 years ago many would have said “No thanks, things are fine” now they are going to say “Yeah, I’m in pain, how can you help.”
It’s a great time to be in this business and market to business owners.

Picking a niche market. That is the tough part. I seem to be working with government employee types, not business owners, where I want to be.
So, how do you evaluate a niche market, to pick one to work?
