Today’s Bizarre Holiday

Today, October 13 is International Skeptics Day.

If you doubt me…

…well then I guess it’s your day

Kidding aside, we live in an age of skepticism.

This makes it much harder to get your message across to consumers, even when you know that you can truly benefit their life.
That’s why it is so important to develop credibility with your prospects and create a relationship of trust.
The challenge is doing this in a way that you can communicate with a lot of prospects and build relationships in large numbers.
Fortunately, we also live in a day where technology has helped us solve the problem for our members.
One of the best ways to accomplish trust-building in large numbers is using Webinars.
Webinars allow you to get your message out to large numbers of people in a way that helps them feel more confidence.
And the nice thing is that much of the process can be automated.
These types of webinars not only help us get appointments for our members, they also educate the consumer so that they are more prepared to work with our members as well.
As I’ve mentioned a couple times recently, its much more effective to delay the sale until your prospect is educated and ready to make a positive decision.

Steve Jobs, Gizmos & The Attention Problem

With Steve Jobs passing away yesterday I thought back on some of the lessons we can learn from is career.
One of the greatest talents Jobs had was getting people to pay attention to his company and his latest gizmo.
In a world where the average city dweller is exposed to as many as 5,000 advertising messages per day that is no small feat.
It’s getting harder and harder to get people’s attention, let alone get them to listen to your message.
That’s why we have begun helping our members get their message across by creating videos that are entertaining (At least we think they are) as well as informational.
These videos not only help solve the ‘attention-problem’ but they also educate people, making them better prospects overall.  

In the last quarter, Jobs’ company shipped 9.25 million iPads… up 183% from the same quarter last year.
This may seem incredible given today’s economic climate, but the reality is this…
For those who know how to market effectively, there is no recession.

What’s your response when someone asks you what do you do?
"Financial Advisor" "Insurance Agent," Etc?
Sure.
That’s probably what most people would say.
But what about the question "Why do you do it?"
What’s your answer?
Here’s mine
I think the "WHY" is more important than the ‘what’…and when people can feel your ‘WHY’ Is sincere, they trust you.
One of the primary ways to develop trust and credibility is to help people realize you aren’t just in it for the money.
There’s a higher calling…a real purpose for good.
That’s what I love about our industry. It’s what I love about helping people fix one of the biggest problems they have.  This video about my friend and his 3 daughters being taken away is why I do what I do.
